Garden furniture by 4 Seasons Outdoor
History
Since the early nineties, we have been very active in Indonesia. Initially mainly because of the import of teak garden furniture and rattan furniture. In the course of time, we have built a very close relationship with two huge factories in Java in Indonesia. In 2002 we decided for a partial takeover of these factoreis in order to optimize the control and to be able to fully direct the sales strategies.
Around the turn of the century we were one of the first European suppliers to use solid synthetic fibres that were applied to a frame. After many improvements to the fibre but to the frames as well (aluminium), we are now able to offer a fantastic assortment of garden furniture on which we give a 3-year warranty. As a result of this policy, we have experienced an enormous growth during the past years, and nowadays, 4 seasons outdoor is available almost throughout Europe.
Design
In the course of the years, product development has become a very important part of the entire operational management at 4 seasons outdoor. Our designers have established a close co-operation with the designers of our factories, called the ‘CSUN lab’.
Here, two worlds come together: the production side from Indonesia and the sales side from Europe. For us, it is a daunting challenge to present the market with new developments, year after year. That we are successful in doing this, is proven by the fact that in 2006 as well as in 2007, we won the major international garden furniture award! In 2008 our assortment received the award for the best total concept at the Dutch garden centres and in 2009 we were acclaimed one of the Best Managed Companies.
Production
As we mentioned before, the entire 4 seasons outdoor production is done in Indonesia. At the moment, about 7,000 (!) wicker workers are working hard in the factories to meet the demand. These workers are supervised by some 100 quality inspectors. Each and every step in the production process is checked and re-checked in order to come to a perfect end product. That is the reason why we are confident to give a 3-year warranty on our products. After the final check, the furniture is packaged and transported by container to our clients in Europe.
