Each material needs its own maintenance. But should you oil teak wood or not? And is a wet wipe really enough to maintain wicker?

Wicker and rope garden furniture requires little maintenance. Occasionally wipe it with a cloth and cleaning it once a year with warm soapy water is enough to keep it clean and beautiful.

Teak wood naturally has an oil that acts protectively, so it’s weather resistant. However, it is advisable to do regular maintenance so your teak garden furniture keeps its beautiful looks. With teak wood, you can choose to treat the wood with special teak maintenance products, preserving the authentic color. If you don't treat the wood, it will eventually become the familiar greyed colour. We also advise you to treat our teak with our protective products to prevent dirt and stains affecting it.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel is a material that is easy to maintain, dirt does not attach easily to this surface. Regular cleaning and occasional cleaning with warm soapy water ensures that the stainless steel continues to look like new.

It is often recommended to keep the cushions of your garden set inside over the autumn and winter.

We do suggest that if you do leave your cushions outside that you stand the cushions upright so excess rain water runs off the cushions. Light rain will be ok as the water should just run off the fabric. This will also reduce the amount of dirt, dust and bird droppings marking your cushions.

Heavy rain will penetrate the fabric and should drain through the foam filling in time.

It is best that you do store your cushions inside when not in use, this will ensure the cushions look their best for as long possible.

If your cushions become dirty or water marked they can easily be cleaned. There are 2 options.

Option 1

Use a bucket with warm soapy water and a scrubbing brush over the affected areas, leave the cushions stood up to allow the excess water to run off. Using just a damp cloth will only spread the mark and may not fully remove the dirty marks.

Option 2

Remove the outer cushion cover and wash in the washing machine no hotter than 40 degrees on a quick cycle with normal detergent
